Proven Technology for
Tunnel Air Montoring

Our instrumentation systems are used in some of the longest road tunnels in the world such as the Gotthard in Switzerland and the Plabutsch in Austria

Our systems are als used in many shorter road tunnels and railway tunnels.

Welcome to Tunnel Air Sensors

Tunnel Air Sensors provides complete solutions for monitoring tunnel air parameters such as visibility, cold smoke detection, flow velocity, and toxic gas concentration.

We can provide complete systems or individual sensors and our products are widely used throughout europe in both road and rail tunnels.
Our instrumentation range comprises of:

Visibility Sensors

We can offer both extractive and in situ air visibility monitors. These systems use the scattered light measurment principal with dual beam sensors to provide reliable and accurate measurement with fast response times. Extractive multi point systems are available to monitor up to 4 points from a single instrument. Both  the extractive and in situ systems can have optional fog compensation.

Smoke Detection

Our cold smoke detection detection sensors provide early warning of potential fires, and are able to detect smoke from defective turbo chargers, engines, brakes and tyres. In conjunction with fire sensor cables they provide a total fire detection solution.

Air Flow Sensors

Our air flow sensors are robust mechanical devices using low profile pitot tubes to measure air flow velocity with high accuracy and repeatablility Due to their robust design and solid state contruction these systems will continue to operate in temperatures up to 1200 degrees C, and require only a 5 year calibration interval.

Toxic Gas Sensors

We can provide toxic gas sensors for CO2, CO, NO, O2 and flammable gases, integrated with multi channel controllers with analoge signal outputs and full alarm functions.

Systems

All of our tunnel air sensors can be suppled as individual units, or as part of a complete monitoring package with alarm panels and data logging, and remote connection to SCADA or web based interfaces.
